Loyalty programs can help increase customer loyalty by rewarding customers for their interactions with the Retailer's brand. In Dynamics 365 Retail, you can set up simple or complex loyalty programs that apply across your legal entities in any retail channel.
This incredibly flexible functionality lends itself to be used to solve multiple scenarios Retailers encounter. Loyalty program within Microsoft Dynamics Dynamics for 365 Retail are not limited to simply managing end-customer loyalty programs, but also managing discount affiliations with brand ambassadors and marketing partners who visit the Retailer’s stores or managing Staff discount programs.
In this post we will tackle a scenario which we encounter often with our Retailer customers, that of capping retail discounts. When offering discounts on merchandise, Retailers often require to be able to cap this discount to a monetary spend within a time period, without any additional admin effort.
This can be achieved by configuring Dynamics 365 for Retail’s Loyalty functionality as we will describe below.
Automatic yearly capping of the Staff discount
Many Retailers we have worked with give their staff a substantial discount on retail items. This discount is usually capped to be used for the first monetary amount worth of purchases in the year. When the threshold is reached, staff should immediately stop getting the discount.
This scenario can be achieved by using out-of-the-box loyalty program tier functionality and enrolling each employee this Staff loyalty program. This program is bound to a Staff reward point with an earning setup of one point for every one euro. Redemption was set to no, and the Expiration time value of the point was set to one year.
